Suction Dredger with LASC chain

Fiebig suction dredgers with LASC chain (loosening and stone conveying chain) consist of a main ship with side pontoons and a foreship. All aggregates and pumps are housed in the engine room of the main ship. The spacious control station is located above the engine room. The foreship consists of two parallel pontoons, a winch frame and the hoist. In front of the sucker runs a conveying chain with exchangeable digging teeth that breaks the ground. The loosened material is sucked through the chain links and is then pumped through the pressure line ashore or into a floating dewatering wheel. Bigger stones and lumps of clay are transported upwards. Then they drop on a oversize particle outlet and are loaded into a barge or they fall back into the gravel pit. Due to the mining automatism and an optional control desk ashore unattended operation is possible. Energy is either provided by a transformer on shore and medium voltage on board or by a diesel generator set on board.
