Horizontal Classing Plant

Fiebig horizontal classing plants are employed for the decomposition of sand in various grades (0 to 2 mm) and the subsequent compositon by formula.

This wet classing procedure employs the different settling velocities of individual particles sizes. The plant is charged with an invariable sand mixture. An updraft unit ensures a continuous flow rate inside the plant. Due to the different settling velocities of the particles an exact deposition of the material on the bottom of the plant is possible. The plant is divided into 8, 10 or 12 chambers. Each chamber is equipped with a material level measuring device and a drain valve at the bottom. The valves are controlled by a formula management. Upon reaching the material level the respective drain valve is opened and the material enters the product intended by the formula management. It is possible to simultaneously produce two products on the formula and one uncontrolled product.
